BOSTON BRANCH CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION
One hundred years after a small group of white and black citizens of Boston came together in 1911 at Park Street Church to launch the Boston Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), we are now preparing to celebrate a century of Civil Rights advocacy.

The evening will feature a Reception & Dinner, silent & live auction, awards presentations and a keynote address. The keynote speaker for the branch’s Centennial Celebration is NAACP National Board Chairman Roslyn Brock, and special remarks will be provided by Assistant Democratic Leader Congressman James E. Clyburn (D-South Carolina).
During the Centennial Dinner, the branch will recognize the following leaders:
- Congressman James Clyburn – Lifetime Achievement Award
- Kenneth Guscott – Distinguished Service Award
- Bettye Robinson Hansen – Women in the NAACP Florence Lesueur Award
- Avi Green – Kivie Kaplan Humanitarian Award
- Tanisha Sullivan, Esq. – Next Generation Leadership Award
After the Dinner, the celebration continues!
The after party will feature 2-time Grammy Award nominee Raheem DeVaughn, as well as other live music, and host hundreds of guests for an evening that will also include Latin and Line Dance instruction, and two rooms of DJs playing the best in R&B, soul, hip-hop and reggae/dancehall.
